Happy Birthday, Everett!

I adopted Everett the beagle from your shelter in February 2001. Just
wanted to update you on what a wonderful addition he is to my life. He has
adjusted so well to his new life, and now has the run of the house when I am
at work (before he was crated so he wouldn't get into things!) He does an
amazing job with children, and is helping my young nephews overcome their
fear of dogs with his gentle and patient nature.

Everett has a new beagle sister that arrived Christmas time (pictures to
follow). He just loves to play with her. They are typical brother and
sister — they can't stand to be apart but like to tease each other when
together. Everett loves having a dog to play with. He has even helped her
through some tough times — when she got sick and had surgery, he stayed with my parents while she recovered immediately after. When he returned, she brightened up and wagged her tail and ran around for the first time since she returned from the hospital. He is truly a little angel.

Just wanted to thank you again for caring about Everett when no one else
did. He and his "sister" are my little sunshine. Attached is a photo of
Everett on his "birthday" which we celebrate as the day I got him from NCCR.
