The transport to bring puppy mill dogs to safety was leaving Ohio. This sweetie was brought in by an amish miller late and no one had room to take her. The millers will not hold them until the next transport so Brandi would not have lived if we could not take her. So sad to think of how close she came to not having this second chance. Brandi is just 4 years old, she doesn't seem to be a typical puppy mill dog as she is very friendly and may even be housetrained. She is curious as most beagles are and enjoys walks.

Brandi's foster mom reports: "She is baby friendly, toddler friendly, cat friendly and all sizes of dogs from tiny to huge and all humans. She came to me not knowing anything about being a dog or what toys were or running and jumping. She just wanted to stay in her kennel, her safe place. Now she runs, plays, brings back the ball until she is ready to drop, has her favorite toys but still uses her kennel and sleeps in it at night. She is very active now, the opposite of when she arrived. She is sweet, loving, never grumpy. One bad habit is sitting up straight and moving her paws up and down rapidly in front of herself; we are working on getting all 4 paws on the ground. She walks pretty well on leash. For the most part she is house trained but does not ask to go out. I just let her out every 3 hours on average. No problem at night since she is in her kennel. Barking is not an issue."

Brandi is currently in foster care. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped; her adoption fee is $190.00. (cash or check only, we are unable to accept credit cards)

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application which you'll find under each dog's photo. If you are on Petfinder, you will need to go to our webpage at http://www.caninerescue.org/available-pets/ (just copy and paste that link in your browser). The application to adopt is in the very lower left hand corner of each pet's webpage.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

NYS Registration #RR028.
