Lou is a 6 year old Boxer. His owner relocated for a job and Lou does not meet the weight limit where he is now residing, plus he would not do well in the hot, humid weather. Lou is housetrained and leash trained and he is not destructive if left alone in the house. (He has been allowed to get on the furniture). He likes female dogs and will tolerate male dogs if they are smaller and not dominant and would prefer if other dogs let him eat in peace! Lou's has a stiff hip when he first gets up, but he walks fine and loves going for walks. Lou is good with older children, compatibility with cats is unknown.

Lou is not currently at the shelter, so if you are interested, put your application in! Completing an application is not a commitment to adopt, it just helps us match the families and dogs together!

Lou is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $190.00. (cash or check only, we are unable to accept credit cards)

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application which you'll find under each dog's photo. If you are on Petfinder, you will need to go to our webpage at http://www.caninerescue.org/available-pets/ (just copy and paste that link in your browser). The application to adopt is in the very lower left hand corner of each pet's webpage.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

NYS Registration #RR028.
