When we received word that a very pregnant Lotus was in need of rescuing, we tried to get her to the safety of NCCR prior to the arrival of her puppies. But she could not wait and sixteen puppies were born at the home of of a rescuer in Indiana, mid way on her trip to NCCR. When the puppies were 4 days old, mom and puppies arrived at one of our foster homes. Three puppies were so tiny, sadly they did not survive, but the other puppies have thrived and most are already in their new homes.

Once her puppies were weaned, Lotus underwent treatment for heartworm. Her activity has to be kept to a minimum; she can go for walks, but can't run and play in the yards for another few weeks. It will be another month before she can be spayed because of the treatment. She is such sweet girl and we'd love to see her in a home for the holidays. Do you have room in your heart and home for Lotus? Stop in at the Rescue to meet her.

Lotus is kindly sponsored by Andrew and Emilee Jae Robbins, Linda Bradigan in memory of Shaleigh and Rich, Lucinda Gelsmino, Randy & Debby Ruhland and Will and Cindy Hepfer. Lotus is also sponsored by Meg Thering in memory of her friend Nicole's dog Gemini. Thank you everyone!

Her adoption fee is $190.00. (cash or check only, we are unable to accept credit cards)

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application which you'll find under each dog's photo. If you are on Petfinder, you will need to go to our webpage at http://www.caninerescue.org/available-pets/ (just copy and paste that link in your browser). The application to adopt is in the very lower left hand corner of each pet's webpage.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

NYS Registration #RR028.
