German Shepherd Dog

Do you have a lot of patience, time and a love for German Shepherds? Cassie Marie, who is around 2 years old, arrived at NCCR on 12/28/19 after being surrendered to another shelter together with two other German Shepherds. The other Shepherds were adopted, but Cassie was struggling. She had no social skills or any other training for that matter. She is still nervous around strangers and takes a bit to relax and settle down. Cassie was not accustomed to petting or handling although she has improved a bit in that area, but she will need ongoing socialization. She will also need more work on housetraining and basic obedience skills. Cassie will need an experienced dog person and someone that can provide ongoing daily training and plenty of exercise as well! A quieter home where she is the only pet with a person or family that wouldn't be leaving her for extended hours would be ideal for this girl. She really needs a loving, gentle person to help build her confidence and become the best dog that she can be!

Cassie Marie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $190.00. (cash or check only, we are unable to accept credit cards)

Cassie is sponsored by: Elaine Tschari, Paula E. Stern, Lisa and Jason Weaver and Matthew Fowler. She is also sponsored by Steve and Diane Mogavero, John and Susan Harrell, Tom and Betsy White and Wanda Hardy. Thank you everyone!

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application which you'll find under each dog's photo. If you are on Petfinder, you will need to go to our webpage at http://www.caninerescue.org/available-pets/ (just copy and paste that link in your browser). The application to adopt is in the very lower left hand corner of each pet's webpage.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

NYS Registration #RR028.
