Sierra is a beautiful Shepherd, approximately 2-3 years old and weighs 60-65 lbs. She came to NCCR from an over crowded shelter and is currently in a foster home. Her foster mom shares this about her: "Sierra is very loving! She greets me and follows me. She is new to all household living. She is polite and gentle. She has a spot behind the couch that is her “den” (visiting is fine) that she goes in at signs of trouble, then she proceeds to peek out. Sierra gets along with all of the dogs in the home as well as Gerald the cat. She stays up at night chewing bones with no destruction. We are working on housetraining; she will go on pads kept in the same spot and we are working our way out of the door. As she is timid, young children are not recommended, older kids would be ok if they have good dog etiquette. Ideally there would be another dog in the home as that will make a huge difference in her life. Time, patience and socialization is what she needs in a family.

Sierra is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $190.00. (cash or check only, we are unable to accept credit cards)

Sierra is is kindly sponsored by Mo & Andrew Broadbent in memory of Benny, Kristen Streeper and Tim and Diane Eades. Thank you!

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application which you'll find under each dog's photo. If you are on Petfinder, you will need to go to our webpage at http://www.caninerescue.org/available-pets/ (just copy and paste that link in your browser). The application to adopt is in the very lower left hand corner of each pet's webpage.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

NYS Registration #RR028.
