For the love of man and dog
The employees of Newbrook-Excelco are mourning
the loss of friend and co-worker, Doug Dikeman. To honor Doug's
life, the employees have made a very caring and generous donation
to NCCR. The following letter accompanied the donation:
On Saturday, February 22, 2003, Douglas G.
Dikeman passed away unexpectedly at the age of 39. Doug was born
and raised in the Chautauqua County region. He was active in
the 4-H, as well as participating in various events at the county
fair. But his main interest was his fondness for dogs. It was
no secret to anyone who knew him that he loved his pets more
than anything. Doug and his wife were known for entering their
dogs in many local and statewide shows.
Doug worked at Excelco Developments as a computer
manager and also assisted with estimating future projects. When
his fellow employees decided to collect money on his behalf,
we knew immediately where the donation should be sent. We feel
Doug would have approved of our decision. We know that is what
he would have wanted. We hope that this contribution will help
with the daily expenses in helping stray dogs find good homes.
Please accept this donation from the employees
of Newbrook-Excelco on Doug's behalf. Doug will be sadly missed,
by both us and the dogs he has tried to help.
It is always sad when we lose someone we care
for, but there is comfort in knowing your donation in Doug's memory
will help many dogs begin new lives. Our deepest thanks to everyone
at Excelco Developments who contributed to this living memorial.
