The Angels of Team C
Fredonia 7th graders make a difference in
many lives
On Sat. June 7th, the Fredonia Middle
School Team C 7th graders held their 2nd annual car wash to benefit
animals in Chautauqua County. They held it at the school this year.
They raised $333 to benefit the animals at NCCR and an equal amount was
sent to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, to help with
costs at both shelters.
"This program is part of our
Learn and Serve America Program in which we try to teach children
about community service," said Dan M. Lawrence, Team Leader
for Middle School Team C. "In addition to our car wash, our
students made 24 blue bird nest boxes that will be donated to to
area nursing homes, cleaned Route 60 from the school to Laona as
part of the Adopt-a-Highway program, and collected in our classroom
$200.00 to adopt animals at the Aquarium of Niagra Falls."
Our thanks go out to Dan for being
such a great leader, and to all the kids involved in these projects.
If these kids are our future, then our future looks very bright,
indeed.
