This is your first and best source for finding a wonderful companion
for you and your family. And for those folks who aren't quite ready
to adopt, we encourage you to consider sponsoring
one of our kids.
Elder Partner indicates the dog is
eligible through our regular process and through our Elder
Partnering Program, which is funded in part by a grant from
the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation. Adoption
Pending means that a brief waiting period is in effect for
an adoption. I'm Adopted! means the
dog has found a home. A Courtesy Listing
means that the current owners are continuing to care for the pet
while adoption arrangements are made and the dog or cat is not currently
housed at our shelter.
ADOPTION FEE: For adult dogs and puppies that have been altered, the adoption
fee is $150 (includes spaying/neutering, license (for NYS residents), age
appropriate shots, microchip). If dogs/puppies have not yet
been altered, the adoption fee is $150 for NYS residents and $175 for out of
state residents. The adoption fee includes age
appropriate vaccinations, deworming, license (for NYS residents) and
microchip (to be implanted by shelter staff when puppies are over 4 months). Adopter
must sign contract agreeing to spay/neuter by 16 wks. of age. If a NYS voucher is
provided, $30 will be refunded to adopter upon proof of altering. If out of state
or a voucher is not provided, $75 is returned to adopter upon proof of
spaying/neutering.
