Why not Volunteer?

Best Friend Program

best-friends1

One on one time is very important for the well being of the dogs during their stay with us.  A long walk, a game of ball, or just hanging out together makes a huge difference.  You can pick your “best friend” to spend quality time with.

Dog Walker

Dog walkers work one on one with the dogs, taking them outside for exercise and training too.  The dogs really look forward to daily walks.

Shelter Tasks

Feeding and cleaning is done twice a day, 365 days a year. It takes many dedicated volunteers to make sure the dogs needs are met and that the building and yards are kept clean.  Volunteers are always needed.

Bathing and Grooming

grooming

It is rare a dog arrives all bathed and groomed so if this is your specialty, your help is needed! Clean and brushed dogs are much more attractive to prospective adopters and the dogs feel better too.

FosterCare                                                                                    fostercare

Opening your heart and home to provide temporary care for a Rescue dog can be a very rewarding experience. Foster homes are a wonderful solution for dogs that do not do well in a kennel situation or have special needs. If you have time, patience and would like to help prepare a homeless dog for his or her chance for a new life, contact us for more information on becoming an approved foster home.

Building and Grounds

Keeping the building in good shape and the grounds looking nice are huge jobs in addition to caring for hundreds of dogs each year.  Repairs, painting, mowing, snowblowing, gardening and general maintenance are year round projects. Would you like to lend a hand?
