Caucasian Sheepdog / Caucasian Ovtcharka

"I am Chloe, a 10 month old Caucasian Shepard. I am not a dog for everyone but you will find me to be sweet and lovable. I need the perfect spot to grow up in so if you look at my picture and think “wow, is that dog cute, I want her”, take the time to read about my breed. We are bred to be a working, herding, take charge, protective companion, and that is what I will be. We can be stubborn and strong willed.. I would like a home as the only animal, unless you have sheep or something that I can guard. No kids, just because of my size. I like belly rubs and attention. If you think that I might fit into your home and life style, come on in and we’ll talk about it."

Some more info on her breed: "Caucasian Shepherds do best with a large yard and are suitable for families that like daily walks. For safety, because they are an intelligent and independent breed, they should be kept contained when exercised, such as in a fenced yard and on-leash when being walked. Even though it is a low energy dog, he should have good endurance for walking and hiking. Extremely independent and intelligent, the Caucasian Shepherd Dog can prove difficult to train for obedience but not impossible. Although active while outdoors, they are usually fairly quiet in the house. Prospective owners should take note: the breed is highly protective of their family and property."

A person or family familiar with the breed, or with livestock guardian dog experience, and a securely fenced yard is strongly recommended.
Chloe is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $190.00. (cash or check only, we are unable to accept credit cards)

Chloe is happy to be sponsored by Victor and Gloria Armes, Nancy DeLand, Dan and Kathy Uszacki, Joseph Incavo and Cathy and David Ferguson. Thank you everyone!

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application which you'll find under each dog's photo. If you are on Petfinder, you will need to go to our webpage at http://www.caninerescue.org/available-pets/ (just copy and paste that link in your browser). The application to adopt is in the very lower left hand corner of each pet's webpage.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

NYS Registration #RR028.
