March News

St. Patrick Hello!

Covid is keeping our doors closed except by pre approved appointment, but adoptions are still happening and as dogs find homes, new dogs keep coming in to take their place. Just this past week we had EVERY SINGLE KENNEL FULL, with a number of dogs in foster as well. Foster homes are wonderful and help us when we are overflowing. Find out here how to foster: https://www.caninerescue.org/get-involved/fostering-a-shelter-dog/ Remember, every adoption helps not only that dog, but it frees up a space for another dog to be saved.

Have you seen our new website? Take a few moments to check it out; you can find available dogs, ways to make a difference by donating, sponsoring, leaving a legacy or volunteering, previous adoption success stories and lots of other information .

Some dogs are almost move in ready and some are diamonds in the “ruff” that with training, TLC and attention should blossom in a home environment. If your application is approved you will be able to set up an appointment to stop by. Talk to the workers and volunteers. They know the dogs personalities the best. Different dogs thrive in different settings. Tell us what kind of lifestyle you have, and we will do our very best to help match you with the dog to fit your home. Remember, some dogs can take several weeks to fully settle into a new home.

We’re hoping that the Luck of the Irish shines down upon some of these special dogs this week. They are all looking for loving forever homes. Dogs can change frequently, but most of them can be seen here https://www.caninerescue.org/available-pets/
