White Paw-Adopted!

June 4 update from foster home: White Paw (Buddy!) is doing great. He’s really starting to chillax and enjoy his life. He still needs to learn that life with people is a good thing. He’s good with or without other dogs!  He loves being cuddled and will choose his favorite spaces when he feels uneasy. Having a routine will be important to start a life with him. He does well being kenneled all night or when needed during the day. He still needs a special loving patience until he can truly love being his best puppydog life. Here he is in a Video(13)

Update from foster home:  He’s coming along. Will need a patient loving understanding family. He will turn into a Velcro pup. Finally got a voice and loves to use it when he wants out of his pen. Potty outside is working. Not one mess in his pen or the house with regular trips outside. Understanding the leash much better. Doesn’t mind my two ole girls. He will attach to the one who spends the most time with him. He’s learning being loved is a good thing.

White Paw arrived at NCCR on 5/9/26, transferred from an overcrowded shelter after being rescued from a hoarding situation to give him the best chance at finding his forever family. He is an approximately 2-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix, weighing around 12 lbs. full-grown. White Paw is quite fearful and timid due to his past experiences, but will come out of his shell in time with patience and some TLC.  A fenced yard is strongly recommended for this little fellow. White Paw may be a nervous Nellie right now, but he is sure to discover a brand-new side of himself as he becomes more confident and secure in his new life!

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an  Application.  *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you.   If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

White Paw is sponsored by Amy Courtine in memory of Izzy, Melford Swanson, David and Nancy DeLand, Jellybean (former NCCR resident) and Doodlebug Parker, Diane Mogavero, and Suzanne, Tillie Mae and Mimzie in memory of Bron Bron. Thank you everyone!
