Birdie

I am very pleased to report that Birdie is quite content with her new role as little sister. She’s actually fast asleep along side me, looking peaceful and happy. If you have been involved with NCCR for any length of time, you may remember a white bulldog named Pierre. He is now Birdie’s big  brother. They have adjusted amazingly quickly, with almost no issues.

Birdie has been switched to a diet consisting of TSC chicken and rice and home made chicken and rice. The soft food is about as all natural as it gets, made fresh by Mary every two weeks and stored frozen. It consists of real chicken, simmered to also create no sodium bone broth, chicken organ meat (fresh livers and gizzards), white rice, peas and carrots. About half the time, she also gets a freshly scrambled egg.  Congratulations to Mary, on becoming Birdie’s “person”. She’s however an equal opportunity love bug. She has the luxury of a large, enclosed back yard. She gets plenty of interactive play with big brother, as well “running the fence” with the neighbors dogs.

I think it’s safe to say Ms. Birdie has found her happy forever home. We’d like to thank Jordan and all the volunteers that made having Pierre and Birdie in our family possible. We know that both of them did not have very happy early lives and we are very proud to have been able to be able to have made them happy and loving family pups. I especially thank Faith, for taking time for working with Birdie and us to overcome Birdie’s issues.

Birdie was adopted in May 2026.
