We’re at two weeks with Abe who we have renamed Auggie and he’s doing well adjusting to his new home. He and Penny are ok together and sometimes act like they want to play but neither is sure just yet. He met the cat and pays him no mind which Cheeto is fine with. Auggie is still skittish and really not yet ready to explore the house—just hanging out on the couch with us. He gets scared on walks and pulls but we’re not going far so we don’t stress him out. We are both in love with him and can’t wait for him to come out of his shell. He’s given us some glimpses of his playful self but we’re fine letting him take his time.

Auggie, formerly Abe, was adopted in June 2023
