Callie Jo

Callie (Violet Calliope Josephine Lewis) has adjusted well to what’s probably been a great change.  She has quickly adapted to walking on a leash (sometimes dancing, sometimes merely spinning in great excitement at the end of it.)  I was surprised, but she loves the cold weather and the snow.  Right now she has been wearing a sweater since it is so horribly cold, but that was just me  – she never acted like she needed it!

I’m glad to report that Callie Jo is a happy, loving, fun little girl.  I guess I didn’t expect that since she wasn’t in an environment previously where she experienced much affection.  She stays within arms’ reach of me at almost all times, sleeps a lot (on the sofa, in my bed) during the day, but is quite good when I leave her.  No barking or hysterics.  She rides well in the car.  the first few weeks she was very shy of my neighbors, but she has warmed up very well.  We go on four to five walks a day, around the neighborhood, and she seems to feel that it’s HER neighborhood at this point.

Thank you so much for Callie Jo, and for Frodo, as well.  Marcia helped me with him, some years ago.  I always give your shelter rave review and have gotten a few of my friends to check it out, on-line.

Callie Jo, formerly Violet was adopted  in January 2025.
