Dorian’s owner passed away, leaving her and 2 other beagles without a home.  Dorian is 7 years old. From her foster mom:  Dorian (or Doris) as I call her….lol is doing well. I have nicknames for all my dogs. She loves to “talk” to you. She lets me know that it’s dinner time and potty time. It seems as though she is used to a crate. In the morning after I let them all out, she grabs a toy and runs to her crate. She knows my work routine. She’s well behaved.  She’s pretty much a couch potato and pretty calm.  She seems healthy besides a little weight issue but I bet she has quite a few years left to enjoy with someone. She likes her naps and toys. She seems well behaved and is a pleasant girl. 🤗

If you are looking for a more mature dog who is already housetrained, gets along with people and other dogs and you are willing to help Dorian lose a few pounds, she just might be the girl for you! She may be dog particular, although seems to get along with most that she has met.  Dorian is in foster care so if you are interested, an appointment will have to be made to meet her.

If  you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an  Adoption Application.  *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you.   If you have a question, please email your question to It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

Dorian is sponsored by Leanne DiNicola, Daniel Courtine in honor of Shiloh, Mo and Andrew Broadbent in memory of Benny, Amy Peterson in memory of Izzy, Joel and Rebecca Cuthbert, Peg Payne, Nancy DeLand, Kristen Streeper, Tim and Diane Eades and by Meg Thering in honor of her friend Ariella Ellias.
