Eli-Adopted!

Meet little Eli!  He is in search of a lap to spend in along with daily walks that he loves! 🙂  Eli is currently in one of our foster homes and reports that “he is a real sweetheart!” She also says “Eli is very well behaved, comes when called, stays back from gates and doors when told firmly, plays well with all female dogs.  Eli loves his sleeping crate inside his  little sleep and play area and crate door is kept open at all times, he snuggles down in his blanket. What a darling little guy”.

Eli’s original family moved and did not take him.  He was taken in and cared for over the last few months, but his caregiver is a nurse and working very long hours so it’s now time to find a permanent home for this fella.  He will stand by the door and sometimes bark when he needs to go outside. Eli knows how to walk on a retractable leash, he will go in his crate to sleep and on command. Eli doesn’t really know how to play with toys but he loves his Kong with peanut butter in it. Eli likes to wrestle and chase after me in the yard. Eli only knows how to sit, he hasn’t learned how to lay down yet.  Eli loves to have his belly rubbed and to go for long walks. He walks well but gets excited and will sometimes choke himself with his collar so a harness is best. Eli loves people of all ages and gets along with laid back dogs that let him have control. He has a lot of energy for an 8-year-old, and he is very protective of his owner. Eli comes when he is called and he will alert you to visitors and noises.

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an  Adoption Application.  *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you.   If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

Eli is sponsored by: Kayme Crowell, Kevin and Barbara Kantz, Diane Weakley, Diane Mogavero, Jane and Joe McMaster, Linda Bradigan in memory of Shaleigh and Rich and Dan Courtine in memory of Plutewhistle. Thank you everyone!
