This handsome fellow arrived at NCCR on 12/22/22, surrendered when his owner became homeless and had no way to care for him. He is an approximately 1-year-old neutered male Dalmation (mix?) – he’s got a lot of spots! Mack weighs in at around 80 pounds and is full-grown. He is a young, active, playful guy, so a family that can provide him with ample playtime, exercise, and ongoing training is vital. Mack loves to play ball! He is very strong, and needs ongoing work on his leash walking skills to teach him not to pull. We’re told that Mack hates cats, and we know he will chase squirrels and chipmunks, so a home without cats or other small pets is required. A family that is familiar with the breed is strongly preferred.

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an  Adoption Application.   After you have completed your application, you will immediately get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email your question to It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.  Completing an application does not commit you to adopt, but please be sure that you are serious about adopting and have the time and patience to raise a puppy before you apply.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

Mack is kindly sponsored by Steve and Diana Lucas in memory of Zeus, by Dan and Amy Courtine in honor of Xander, Holly and Eden, Sharon Perry, Craig Cassaday, Charlie Fisher, Chelsea Barber, Suzanne and former NCCR residents, Tillie Mae and Bron Bron, and Rebecca Wood. Thank you!
