Maverick arrived at NCCR on 9/4/25 after being found stray in a nearby town. His owner was unable to take him back home due to personal difficulties, so Maverick is looking for a true forever home & family. He is a 1 ½ year old male mixed breed, and his breed mix is reported to include German Shepherd & Husky, but may include other breeds, too. Maverick lived with two other dogs and got along well with them, and is described as being very sweet, friendly, and high-energy. As a young dog with a working breed heritage, he will need a substantial amount of daily exercise and activity, as well as ongoing training to help reinforce everything he has learned. Maverick is house trained and knows some basic commands, but can be a strong puller on-leash. He will be neutered prior to adoption.

It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.
