We are calling her Naja and she is acclimating as well as possible. She has trauma issues with men, but otherwise she is one of the smartest, most intuitive dogs I’ve ever known – exceptional in that regard. Extremely responsive and obedient. We let her run free on my mother’s large property and she is in PURE JOY! She absolutely loves to run, and is unbelievably fast! She has bonded to me completely, but not to others. She continues to have extreme separation anxiety, that is the biggest problem.
I feel that I got extremely lucky in finding her, even though she is a one-person dog and not serving the purpose of therapy dog for my mother that I had hoped. She does let my mother pet her, and if I’m around, she will sit right next to my mother’s chair protectively. You all have created a wonderful shelter, what a great service!!!
Naja, formerly Nadiya, was adopted in February 2025.
