Roxie-Cross Post for Celebration of Canine Lives Sanctuary

Roxie is a super fun dog who is approximately three years old (as of June 2025).  She is a real mutt and most likely has a wide variety of breeds in her.  Her personality is as colorful as her genetics!  Roxie is an active dog who loves playing ball, going hiking and playing with other dogs.  Roxie’s two favorite things are going for car rides and toys.  She loves Kongs, squeaker toys, jollyballs, etc.  You name it, Roxie will play with it!  She can be quite destructive with her toys (aka she loves to rip them up), so we use toys that take awhile to destroy.  Roxie loves people of all ages, shapes, and sizes.  She loves meeting strangers and would do great in a home with children (around 8 years old and up).  Roxie also loves to play with other dogs and would do great in a home with a home with another dog(s) as well.  She is a little too fixated and intent on chasing rabbits, squirrels and other small critters, so we feel a cat-free home is needed to ensure the animals she’s placed with are safe.  Roxie is incredibly gentle with people and has the personality of an angel:  she has an excellent recall, is extremely willing to please and has no food or toy resource guarding issues.  Roxie is so good with people she actually even enjoys going to the vet’s office!  She’s happy to get vaccines and will even love on the vets and vet techs thorough the exam.  Roxie’s love of people makes her a little exuberant with visitors, so she is the type of dog that would do well and learn from a Canine Good Citizen class.  She is athletic and loves to run and jump, so she would also enjoy taking some intro to agility classes in the future.  This beautiful girl loves being with people so much that she may have some separation anxiety, especially in transitionary times.  It is important that she is placed with an active family where she isn’t alone for too long during the days and that the family has some experience with dogs that can be destructive toward material objects.  If Roxie sounds like your kind of girl, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.  If interested in Roxie, please email Megan at:  mahonemt@bonaventure.edu or text (716)785-4706.  She is located at Celebration of Canine Lives Sanctuary in Cuba, NY.  Our organization adopts out to families within an approximately 2.5-hour radius of Cuba, NY.   Serious inquiries only, please.
