Vera

Vera is doing great, she’s an amazing girl. Her personality is coming out more and more every day. Every day she does something different and cute. From her being more verbal/vocal, it sounds like she’s talking. She loves her backyard and going on walks (of course), but most of all she loves taking naps with mama, and she really loves bedtime. Another favorite thing is to jump up on dad’s chair when he goes to the bathroom. She leaps up on to it and rolls around, as you can see in one of the photos.

Honestly, she’s not difficult at all, she eats her food and loves her treats. Vera’s now fully house-trained, and it happened rather suddenly. She was so stressed the first few days that it was trying and there were lots of accidents, but like a light switch soon she never had an accident again. The only thing she doesn’t like is to be left alone, which is fully understandable. Fortunately for her, she’s rarely left alone except for quick trips to the market sometimes.

There’s no question that she loves her new home and we have a wonderful daily routine. She does assert herself by growling at dad in the morning if he gets up last and comes out into the room, or when we hug and kiss. She doesn’t like that, she gets jealous, but it’s not an unfriendly growl/bark, kind of grumbly. It’s kind of an act. She’s show zero actual aggression, has never bared her teeth once. It does make us think she may have been mistreated by a male in the past. She definitely prefers and is protective of mom. They’re kind of inseparable now. We love her very much, and it’s as if she’s always been part of us.

Vera was adopted in April 2025.
