Willie was adopted from NCCR in 2024, but has proven to be an enthusiastic chaser of anything on wheels, and is now looking for a home in a quieter, less heavily traveled location. He is a neutered male Cairn Terrier (mix?), approximately 3 years old. He gets along well with kids and loves people, but has a very typical terrier attitude! Willie is smart, house trained, and knows basic commands. He is strong for his 18 lb. size and pulls some on leashed walks. Willie likes to play with toys and will let you take his toy in exchange for a treat, but does not want you to take toys from him without a fair trade! He is very strongly inclined to bark at and chase anything moving on wheels, from skateboards to trucks and everything in between, so a home where he will not have a view of vehicles going by is preferred, and a fenced yard is recommended. He requires routine grooming, and does very well at his grooming appointments. If a little guy with a big personality suits you and you have a home located away from busy roads, Willie might be the one for you!
If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.
*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.
