Meet Frankie, an approximately two-year-old, 50 lb. mixed breed who is very friendly with people, and other dogs, too. He is full of energy and personality, and he absolutely loves toys of any type. His breed mix is guessed to include some Husky, but he likely has more than a couple of other breeds in his mix (don’t call him a mutt, he’s limited edition!). Frankie knows some basic commands already, and he will happily fetch a ball and drop it for you if you ask. He has quickly become a shelter favorite, and it’s a total mystery how he has been overlooked! Frankie is making wonderful progress on learning good manners. He is very well potty trained and will bark when he has to go out. He also does ok with being crated, and rides well in the car. He is still working on learning not to jump up on people – he’s just so enthusiastic to meet everyone! He has a lot to offer, and he’s ready and waiting to meet YOU! If you have room in your heart and home for a big handsome pup and can promise to give him all the love he deserves fill out an application!
Update on Frankie from his Slumber Party host: He’s VERY fun loving, full of energy and personality. He’s going to be a wonderful addition to someone’s family for sure. He is a bit pushy (literally) and rambunctious so someone is going to have to be able to roll with the punches so to speak. He’s almost knocked me over several times so I’m sure little ones would be a risk with him. Not because he means it , because he has not concept of his size. He absolutely loves toys of any type and is hilarious when he plays. He is very well potty trained and will bark at you when he has to go out. He has not once messed in my house. Even while I’m at work and he is crated he is no problem with that. I don’t advise anyone with pet birds as well. But that’s prey to some dogs, so I can’t fault him for that.
If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Application. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.
We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.
*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.
Frankie is sponsored by The Courtine Family in memory of Shiloh, Mark Swanson, Jason Weaver, Jim Mayshark, and Sarah Tykowski. Thank you!
