Gypsy is an absolute sweetheart! My other Lab loves her, too, and she does well with my elderly cat – no chasing or bothering. She is quite a chewer, but she seems to be realizing that she is not supposed to chew my things. She has plenty of stuffies and chew bones, and I bought food puzzles for both of the dogs. These have been a hit with both of them.
I am walking her to get some energy out and plan to take her to a trainer in Gerry so we can do agility, dock diving and barn hunts together. I think she will do well at these. She has lots of energy that needs to be channeled. When she does sleep, she sometimes sleeps on her back with her front paws in the air. I will try to get a photo of that if I can – it’s pretty funny. I think it is also a sign that she is starting to trust us.
I haven’t changed her name, but I call her Gypsy or Gyps. I appreciate your contacting me, and I would say it is a case of so far so good. Thanks very much for the email and to your agency for helping me to adopt this awesome dog!
Gypsy was adopted in April 2014.
