Snoopy-Adopted!

Snoopy is a very smart, inquisitive dog. He loves laps if you let him or he will settle in next to you or on the floor with something soft to lay on. Even a bath towel. He will also sleep with you to keep you warm if you like, or will sleep curled up in a dog bed. But he will check to make sure you are still there occasionally, if he is on the floor. He loves short or long walks and would really like to know what is past his leash. His nose is to the ground the whole time, so probably some beagle in the mix. He likes to ride and will watch out the window for a while but settles down in the seat when he tires of it. He is energetic, but after he settles into a routine, he sleeps quite a bit. He could easily be named shadow, as he wants to follow his owner everywhere. He would prefer a home where someone can be with him all the time so a family with kids or someone who takes him everywhere would be ideal. He will play with hard chew toys or a rope, but likes someone to play with him. He eats dry dog food and wants a fresh dish of water next to it. He does not beg at the table or go after dropped crumbs. He will dance when it’s time to go out and I believe he could learn a few more tricks still! He will let you know if someone is coming in the door by going to greet them. He loves company and kids, but wants nothing to do with cats. He will hurt them. A fenced yard would be good but leaving him alone will cause him to dig for that buried treasure in your yard. He will be an awesome companion, full of love, but you will have to teach him your ways and you will have to learn some of his ways. Be patient, and he will trust you totally!

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an  Adoption Application.   After you have completed your application, you will immediately get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day.  Completing an application does not commit you to adopt, but please be sure that you are serious about adopting and have the time and patience to raise a puppy before you apply.

We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in.

*PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

Snoopy is sponsored by Bob & Dawn Hunt in memory of Laurie Robbins.
