(Gracie went to foster care upon arrival and was adopted by her foster family!)
Gracie (aka Barkleigh) is doing great. She was in rough shape when we got her, with her fur filthy and full of matts, mites and yeast infections in both ears, and an anal gland infection. After resolving those issues, she has improved quickly. She went from huddling at the back door and eating almost nothing to going everywhere and eating almost everything (paper, pee pads, wood, etc.) Although still very much a puppy, she has bonded with Ida Belle, our senior puppy mill rescue Saint Bernard. She’s still afraid of strangers, but will follow Ida for a quick human encounter. After a shaky start, potty training is going okay. She’s learning to walk on a leash and loves to romp around the backyard with her tennis ball. Still won’t get into a car, though we’re working on that. She’s extremely affectionate and smart, and has fit right in. We love her!
Gracie was adopted in April 2022.
